IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT THE WEBSITE

We are excited to bring the paddle sports and fishing communities in South Carolina together to collaborate and learn from each other. Please check the site frequently as we will be adding new information in the coming weeks.

Over the next few weeks we will be setting up most of the website infrastructure. During this time you may notice some of the links may not be operational. Once we bring that element of the website online, we will enable the appropriate buttons. Thanks for your understanding as we develop SC Kayak Fishing. Until we are fully operational, please join our forums and bein to share your ideas and stories with us. If you can think of any way sckayakfishing.com can better serve you, please feel free to post your thoughts under the "Forum Questions and Answers" topic!

South Carolina Kayak Fishing believes in SAFETY FIRST! Always have a float plan filed with someone who knows where you are going and when you plan on returning. Make sure you have checked the weather, tides, and water conditions for the area you are planning to explore or fish. At all times ensure that you are in compliance with U.S. Coast Guard and State rules and regulations for paddle vessels in your area.

In South Carolina, non-motorized vessels such as wind surfers and  watercraft (canoes, kayak, etc.) propelled only by human power with oars, paddles or similar devices, are not required to be registered or titled. However, regulations do require that each occupant of the vessel have a type I, II, III, or V personal floatation device (PFD). You are also required to have a whistle or efficient sound producing device onboard. If you are going to be out on the water at night or in low-light conditions you are also required to have a light that is bright enough so that others can see you.

The waterways, rivers, and oceans can be a dangerous place. Please  make sure that you take the proper precautions to ensure you have a safe adventure and obey the navigational rules of the water. As the reader you recognize this, assume all risks of property damage, personal injury, and death, and agree to hold the publishers of this site and our staff harmless from any liability as a result of your use of the information provided in these pages.
